Bears of Rosehill started in a small retail outlet in 1999. The name was taken from the name of our house, because it sounded like a pleasant place for bears and the like to live.

John started the business from scratch and built it up to such an extent that at the end of 18 months, the bears had taken over the available space and forced him to amalgamate his workshop and his storeroom into one tiny space at the back. Time to move on and luckily another premises in the same street fell vacant and the bears, repairs and all moved over the road.

Since then dolls houses, kites and all sorts of other interesting items have followed and the bears have moved again to their present 3 storey location at 1 - 3 Griffin Street, Newport, which has disabled access and is easy to locate being in the street next to Newport's indoor market midway between the bus and train stations and about 5 minutes from either.
